Muting a conversation's notifications

In a group conversation, open it, then open its settings, and switch on Mute notifications. A one-to-one conversation cannot be muted on its own yet — there is no settings button on those. To quieten messages generally, turn the message category down in Settings → Notifications. This is yours alone — nobody else in the chat is told, and nothing changes for them. What muting does and does not do: - You stop getting notifications for that conversation. - You still receive the messages, you can still read and send, and your unread count still works. Only the notification is silenced. For a shared cluster, the cluster's notifications come through its group chat, so muting that chat is how you quieten the cluster. This is different from a mute applied by a moderator in a community, which stops someone posting there for a while. If you have been muted in a community you will see it said plainly, with the time remaining.
