Connecting Google or Outlook Calendar

Connect a calendar in Settings → Connected → Events & calendar. Orrery can connect to Google Calendar and to Outlook. That screen shows which of them is available on your Orrery, and says plainly when one is not switched on. Events you host sync both ways. The title, the time and the place can be changed in either place and the other follows. The description you write as host is copied out to your calendar as well, one way. Nothing else travels. Guests, replies, hosts, the event chat, memories and your notes stay in Orrery and are never sent to Google or Microsoft. Events you were invited to are a one-way copy into your calendar. Changing that copy does not change the event. If the same field is changed in both places, nothing is overwritten. Orrery shows the two versions and you choose. Changes that do not overlap are simply merged. Your calendar's own events can appear in Orrery's calendar view. They are private to you, and are not Orrery events until you explicitly choose Bring into Orrery. Only one calendar receives your events. If you connect two, one of them is the one Orrery writes to, and you choose which. Deleting. Deleting an event asks whether to remove it from your calendar too. If you delete it in your calendar instead, Orrery asks whether to keep the Orrery event or cancel it as well — it never quietly cancels an event on your guests. Disconnecting does not delete your events — not in Orrery, and not in your calendar. It ends Orrery's access and clears the copies of your calendar-only entries that Orrery was showing you; entries in your own calendar are removed only if you explicitly ask for that when disconnecting. Reconnecting the same account picks up where it left off without making duplicates.
