Clusters

A cluster is a named group of people that appears as its own planet on your map. Tapping it opens the cluster — a smaller version of your Orrery, with the cluster at the centre and its members around it. Joining and leaving. Someone is a member of a cluster if the cluster lists them. A person can be in several clusters at once. You can add someone by dragging their planet onto the cluster (you are asked to confirm), or by opening their planet, choosing Profile, and using the Clusters list there. Personal and shared clusters. A personal cluster is just your own arrangement. A shared cluster is a small community: it has a roster, a group chat, a feed and a board, and the people who run it can manage who is in it. Members still show on your main map. By default a cluster member also appears as their own planet at their own band, because being in a group and being close to you are two different things. If that makes your map busy, you can hide a specific person from the main view using Hide from main view on their Settings tab. They stay in the cluster — you just reach them by opening it. A cluster needs at least two people. If it drops below that, Orrery dissolves it for you rather than leaving an empty one behind: its remaining member becomes an ordinary planet again and its group chat is archived. Nobody is removed from your orbit.
