Changing your username, email address or password
Where each one lives, and what changing your email does.
All three are in Settings → Account.
Username. Usernames are checked as you type, so you can see whether the one you want is free. Usernames are not case-sensitive for uniqueness — if someone has
Ashten, ashten is not available — but the capitalisation you type is the capitalisation people see.
Email address. You will be asked for your current password first. Once changed, the new address is unverified until you confirm it from the email that is sent, and you will see a reminder until you do. Your account keeps working in the meantime.
Password. You enter your current password and the new one twice. The new password needs at least eight characters with an upper-case letter, a lower-case letter, a number and a symbol.
Changing your password ends your sessions on other devices. You stay signed in where you made the change.Updated September 25, 2026
