What “beta” means
The app works, but it's young — you may hit rough edges, odd animations, or the occasional bug. That's exactly what you're here for: use Orrery like it's yours, and when something feels broken, slow, or confusing, tell us. Nothing is too small to report.
Your missions
Work through these at your own pace — each one exercises a part of Orrery we want fresh eyes on.
Mission 1
Join through the invite link
- Create your account using the beta link above — it automatically connects us so you can message me feedback directly.
- Try signing up on your phone. Did the welcome tour make sense? Was anything confusing?
Mission 2
Build your orbit
- Add at least 5 people — friends, family, even places you love.
- Drag people closer (Inner orbit) or farther (Outer orbit). Does it feel right?
- Upload a profile photo and use Reframe to position your face on your planet.
Mission 3
Send a Comms message
- Message another tester — try replies, reactions, voice notes, and pasting a screenshot.
- Start a group chat with 2+ people and rename it.
- Watch for the glowing pulse on the map when a message arrives.
Mission 4
Make a community
- Group a few contacts into a cluster and open its shared feed and group chat.
- Create an invite link for your community and have someone join with it.
Mission 5
Plan an event
- Create an event with a date and location, and invite a guest or two.
- Watch it drift toward you as the date approaches.
- Try “Add to calendar” and “Open in Maps” — especially on iPhone.
- After the event, add photos to its shared memories gallery.
Mission 6
Post to your feed
- Post a photo (or a multi-photo gallery), a poll, and a comet — the fleeting story-style post that flies across your orbit.
- React to and comment on someone else's post.
- Share your orbit publicly or send a friend your own invite link.
Mission 7
Push it until it breaks
- Use it on your phone AND a computer — does everything sync?
- Add Orrery to your home screen and turn on push notifications.
- Do things out of order, tap buttons twice, rotate your phone — then tell us what broke.
How to send feedback
- 1In the app, tap the ⋯ More menu in the top-right corner, then choose Feedback.
- 2Be very specific about what you clicked or tapped right before the problem — e.g. “I opened a friend's card, tapped the Comms tab, then hit Send” — and what you expected to happen instead.
- 3Take a screenshot if you can and attach it right in the form — up to 4 per report (you can also paste one straight into the message box). Prefer email? [email protected] works too.
What's worth reporting? All of it:
Something broke?
Screenshot it and tell us what you were doing right before. Even “I tapped X and nothing happened” is gold.
Something confusing?
If you had to stop and figure out what a button does, that's a bug in the design — we want to hear it.
Something missing?
Wish it did something it doesn't? Tell us. Beta feedback directly shapes what gets built next.
